Mary writes... One can quickly see that you have put much time and effort into your site for the benefit of all. Thank you. I've enjoyed reading about classmates. It is disheartening to learn that so many have passed on. The least I can do for your effort is to add my info.

I only attended NU for my senior year. I supplied a photo taken for my other high school year book to Mr. Brandcamp (sp) who commented, "It looks like hell."  Well, needless to say, that wasn't very encouraging. It was a horrible thing to say and I took an immediate dislike to Mr. Brandcamp. I don't remember if he submitted the photo for the yearbook.  If you have a copy and find my picture in it, you are welcome to use it for the site.

Most people are much more likely to remember my sister, Margaret (Peggy) Elizabeth Brewer Cole, who graduated a year after us and is much more social that I. She married G. Wayne Cole who graduated with us. Peggy lives and works in Nevada County and is a member of The Church of Latter Day Saints.

I worked for Nevada County 1990-1997 in the wastewater division which was part of the Department of Transportation when I left.  I would run into Chris Appleby from time to time, but then it was Chris Dabis.

My husband and I moved from Nevada County in 1998 and now live in Washington state. Our daughter, Amanda (Mandy) Blanchard Schroeder, graduated from Nevada Union in 1985. Her husband, Chris, is the Army's Battalion Command Sergeant Major in Jacksonville, Florida.

My mom, Midge Casner Brewer Starnes, turns 80 this month. She has been a volunteer with veteran's organizations for many years. She grew up in Nevada County and attended the You Bet school through the 8th grade. I remember playing in the old school house as a child before it was completely demolished.

I married a local boy, Richard Blanchard, who attended NU ahead of me. His brother, Alton, lives in Nevada County.

Well, this is probably more information than anyone wanted to know. Again, thank you and best wishes to all.   Mary Blanchard
