A celebration of life
for James Alfred Bridges of Auburn will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Sunday at the family home, 25028 Oro Valley Drive in Lake of the
Pines.
Mr. Bridges died
Saturday, April 19, at home. He was 56.
He was born on April
13, 1947, in Buckeye, Ariz., to Vester Leon and Lois (Cross)
Bridges. He graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1965. He
served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal with the 2nd
Battalion 9th Marines. He served two years in the Marine Corps,
serving 13 months in Vietnam, where he received numerous medals,
including the Purple Heart. He married Patricia Davidson on Jan. 30,
1968, in Grass Valley. He was a self-employed roofing contractor for
more than 35 years. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled
American Veterans, Anglers Choice and the New Bass. He enjoyed
professional bass fishing.
He is survived by his
wife, Patricia L. Bridges of Auburn; sons Michael J. Bridges and
Steven, both of Grass Valley; seven grandchildren and one
great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Arrangements are under
the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
