Services will be conducted for William Holman, 46, of Grass Valley.  He died Sunday at his home.

Mr. Holman was born January 16, 1946, to Alfred and Doris Holman in Grass Valley. A lifelong resident of Grass Valley, he attended local schools and graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1965.

Following graduation, Mr. Holman spent two years in the U.S. Air Force. Always interested in auto mechanics, he worked locally as a mechanic.  His last place of employment was the Cedar Ridge Chevron station.

He is survived by his parents, Alfred and Doris Holman of Grass Valley, daughter Sheri Lynn Jacobs of Grass Valley; brother Robert Holman of Citrus Heights; and sister Patricia Caldera of Grass Valley.

A viewing will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Grass Valley Chapel of Hooper and Weaver. A burial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Grass Valley. The Rev. Ed. Farrel-Starbuck from the United Methodist Church in Grass Valley will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Nevada City Chapel.
