A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, the corner Nevada and High Streets in Nevada City, for Christy Ann Ridinger. Mrs. Ridinger passed away Aug. 15 from a recently diagnosed rare illness. She was 60.

Mrs. Ridinger was born July 10, 1947, in Chico. She moved to Nevada City with her family in 1957 and graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1965. She went on to graduate from California State University, Sacramento with a B.A. in 1969 and later earned a teaching credential. She resided in Grass Valley until moving to Orangevale in 1974.

Mrs. Ridinger enjoyed life as a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a teacher, a benefits administrator for the California Correctional Peace Officers Association and an independent distributor for Juice Plus+. She was also a devoted Christian and was active in her church.

Mrs. Ridinger loved spending time with her family, camping, reading, gardening and traveling. She enjoyed all things educational and healthy and inspired people to be the best they could be.

Mrs. Ridinger is survived by her husband of 42 years, David Ridinger of Orangevale; son, Christopher Ridinger of Grass Valley; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Jim Easterbrook of Truckee; granddaughter, Emma Grace of Truckee; mother-in-law, Sybil Ridinger of Grass Valley; brothers Bert Cannon of Columbia City, Ore., Mike Cannon of Yuba City and Jon Musser of Anchorage, Alaska; sisters Kathleen Mcaley of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and Dale Franklin of Pinson, Ala.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ridinger was loving, kind and cherished by all who knew her.
