Grass Valley native Donald Carl Netz, 43, died Monday at his North Highlands residence.  Netz was born June 6, 1947, to Carl and Jewell (Dovell) Netz. He attended local schools and enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17. Netz served in Vietnam with the Dirty Water Navy on the rivers of the Mekong Delta.

Netz is survived by his son John of Grass Valley; daughter Sarah of Nampa, Idaho; father Carl of Grass Valley' brother Lanny of Grass Valley' stepbrother Henry Anderson of Grass Valley, and sister Carol
Raven of Orangevale.

The funeral service begins at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Nevada City Chapel of Hooper and Weaver Morturay. Pastor Sam Floyd of the Abundant Life Fellowship will officiate.   Burial will follow in the family plot in the 100F Cemetery in Nevada City.
